We walked around the courthouse as we prayed, asking the Lord to bless our city, and to work through our governmental leaders to bring truth and justice to our area. We asked that God would also work in our leaders so that their hearts would be turned to Him.
We stood on the Scripture in in 2 Chronicles 7:14 which states,
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
After our time of prayer we stood on the sides of 301 and held up signs of blessings. Signs contained messages such as, “God Loves You”, “We are praying for you”, and “God bless our Mayor”. We had so much favorable feedback from drivers and it was a blessing to brighten up someone’s day. We live in a world where even Christians are caught up in debating their viewpoints and arguing their position. But we most always remember that Jesus said that they will know us (Christians) by our love. Though there is a time for speaking truth, that too is to be done in love. Most people are won to Christ not be a good debate, but by demonstrating God’s love in action. As you go about your day today, ask yourself what you can do to make a positive impact on someone else!
